“Deconstructing drivers of violent extremism and radicalization in Macedonia

The main goal of the project is identifying and analyzing the drivers of violent extremism in Macedonia which have affected between 150-200 Macedonian citizens to participate in conflict in Syria and Iraq.

Kosovar Centre for Security Studies is implementing research project entitled: “Deconstructing drivers of violent extremism and radicalization in Macedonia”. The main goal of the project is identifying and analyzing the drivers of violent extremism in Macedonia which have affected between 150-200 Macedonian citizens to participate in conflict in Syria and Iraq.

Through this project, KCSS intends to interview 40 institutional and civil society representatives from Macedonia which are directly engaged in countering and preventing of violent extremism and radicalization in Macedonia.

In December 2017 KCSS will organize a large conference in Skopje for publishing findings of research report.  Though this project KCSS is aimed to improve the cooperation between Kosovo and Macedonia on countering and preventing of violent extremism and radicalization.

The implementation of this project has started in July 2017 to January 2018 and is financially supported by Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD)
