Online discussion with citizens of Podujeva Municipality - The importance of reintegration of citizens

Respecting the preventive measures against Covid-19, the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies is continuing the implementation of activities through online platforms. On May 8, 2020, KCSS held a discussion with community representatives from the municipality of Podujeva on the importance of reintegration of citizens returned from the conflict in Syria and community resilience.

The discussion emphasized the need for wider community engagement in rehabilitation and reintegration initiatives and the need for more information on the actual reintegration programs. Bekim Jashari, the head imam of the Municipality of Podujeva emphasized that the coordination and cooperation in between the community in the municipality of Podujeva has proven success in the prevention of violent extremism and a similar approach shall be applied in reintegration and rehabilitation initiatives as well. Furthermore, Mr. Jashari focused on the ‘Fol Tash’ platform as well, a community initiative for rightful informing on religious aspects and the impact such initiatives have on building community resilience.

Through such activities, KCSS aims to raise awareness on the importance of reintegration and a comprehensive approach on such process. The next activity on the same topic will take place on Thursday May 14, 2020 from 17:00 to 18:00, on KCSS official Facebook Page. The next discussion will be focused on the municipality of Mitrovica and the panelists consist of the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Mitrovica Mr. Faruk Mujka and Head Imam of the Municipality of Mitrovica Mr. Rexhep Lushta.
