Roundtable on countering violent extremism in Kamenica Municipality
Kosovar Center for Security Studies (KCSS) today, 6th of February 2017, has organized a conference in Municipality of Kamenica as a part of the project “Countering violent extremism in Kosovo”.
Panelists in this conference were:
Mr. Begzad Sinani, Mayor of the Municipality of Kamenica
Mr. Bujar Fera, Islamic Association in Kamenica
Mr. Nazif Hajrizi, Commander at the Police Station in Kamenica
This panel was moderated by Skender Perteshi- researcher at Kosovar Center for Security Studies (KCSS).
The audience of this conference was composed by variety groups within Kamenica municipality and civil society organizations and media as well. They appreciated the role of this conference, and emphasized the importance of organizing these kind of events, in order to know more about phenomenon of violent extremism and radicalization, and finding means and opportunities of combating and preventing this phenomenon.
During the conference was mentioning the importance of organizing such an events which will contribute directly in awareness raising of the citizens against violent extremism and radicalization in Kosovo, and the importance of the cooperation between state authorities and citizens in prevention of violent extremism.
